Return to: Academic Programs
The All But Dissertation (ABD) - Capstone Project Track is built for doctoral students who have already put in the work but need a more practical, supportive path to the finish line. Baker College understands the hurdles of traditional programs, so instead of a standard dissertation, this track guides you through a comprehensive capstone project focused on solving real-world business challenges with actionable solutions. You can even customize your expertise by choosing a concentration with nine credits of MBA courses that count toward your DBA degree. This ABD option is specifically designed for those who have completed at least 27 semester credits (including statistics and research) in another doctoral program at a regionally accredited institution within the last seven years. Most students are able to finish their doctorate in about 1.5 years by completing the remaining 25 credits, finally turning that “ABD” status into a DBA.
