Being a nurse is about more than just having a job; it’s about being the person who shows up for others when they need it most. It is a career that challenges you to be both a compassionate caregiver and a high-level problem solver who heals the whole patient in mind, body, and spirit. To succeed, you’ll need a heart for people and a sharp mind for science, and the Baker College of Nursing is here to help you master both. No matter where you begin, the program is designed to support your development as a well-rounded professional prepared to contribute to modern healthcare proactive and make an impact early in your career.

The College of Nursing (CON) offers three tracks towards the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. The Traditional Nursing track is designed for first-time college students seeking a career as a professional nurse. The Accelerated Nursing track is for students who hold a bachelor’s degree but now wish to seek a degree in nursing. The third, Post-Licensure track, is for licensed RNs seeking a bachelor’s degree. The BSN degree focuses on the well-rounded practitioner with an emphasis on a liberal arts education as well as a mastery or expansion of nursing knowledge. The Traditional Nursing track and the Accelerated track are available to those students who wish to obtain credentials to take the NCLEX-RN examination. The Post-Licensure track focuses on expanding the knowledge of the working nurse in the field of nursing and liberal arts.
