This course continues the study of organic chemistry with a focus on the chemistry of key functional groups, including alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acids, acid derivatives, ethers, amines, thiols, and more. Students will develop a deeper understanding of how these functional groups react under various conditions and how their structures influence reactivity. This course is designed to build upon foundational knowledge from Organic Chemistry I, preparing students for advanced organic synthesis and analysis. 45 hours of lecture and 30 hours of lab required.
Prerequisite(s): CHM 3010 Corequisite(s): CHM 3050L
