NUR 2650 - Psychosocial Concepts in Nursing

Through theory and practical clinical experiences, the student will explore the complexities of mental illness and the nursing care required for individuals experiencing mental health-related disorders. Students will apply therapeutic communication techniques, crisis intervention strategies, and medication management approaches specific to mental health care. Through hands-on experiences and theoretical exploration, students develop the skills and understanding needed to support individuals with mental health challenges in various healthcare settings. This course is comprised of 45 hours of lecture instruction and 45 hours of clinical experience.
