SWK 2610 - Group Theory and Practice

This course introduces the student to human behavior as it relates to small group process, formal organizations, and community dynamics. Students are introduced to selected systems concepts. The interplay of various forces which affect the development of social groups, organizations, and communities, and the effects of such interdependent systems on the client system are examined. The impact of race, sex, and age is considered in relation to groups, organizations, and communities. Students will demonstrate the skills necessary for facilitating groups across settings.
