ELM 2310 - Elementary Science II Credits: 3 Lecture: 45 Lab: 0
This course is the second of a two-course sequence that will focus on content knowledge necessary to teach elementary (p-6) science. Topics included in this course will include Earth, Earth’s surface, Earth’s waters, organic and biochemistry, characteristics of life, cells and their parts, respiration and photosynthesis, cell cycle, evolution and history of life on Earth, ecology and environment, and human biology. This course will also include an integrated lab that will focus on providing students with opportunities to pursue inquiries into each subject area, while also developing their ability to identify appropriate lab activities that demonstrate concepts across varying domains of science. A grade of C or better must be attained to complete the Elementary Education Program.
