Surgical Technology, AAS

Become a vital member of the surgical team, working directly alongside surgeons to ensure every procedure is a success. This program trains you to be a high-level professional who masters the “behind-the-scenes” essentials of the operating room-from organizing advanced instrumentation to ensuring a sterile, safe environment for every patient. You will apply your knowledge of how the human body works to manage complex equipment and anticipate a surgeon’s next move in real-time. As the field expands, you will be prepared for exciting roles not just in traditional operating rooms, but also in labor and delivery, cardiac units, and private specialty practices. You will graduate ready to maximize patient safety and excel in the high-stakes, fast-paced world of surgery.

Program Status: Professional Program Application

Program requirements include the following:
  • Successful completion of BIO 1210, BIO 1211, BIO 1220, BIO 1221, BIO 2150, BIO 2410, and HSC 1050 with a minimum grade of B- (2.7)
  • A minimum grade of B- (2.7) in all major courses (SUR) is required.
  • A minimum grade of C (2.0) is required for general education courses.

Prerequisite Courses - 28 Hours


Prerequisite courses must be taken prior to applying for the program.

Semester Hours Required for Graduation - 65
