The Health Information Technology program prepares students to manage, secure, and maintain health records in a variety of healthcare settings. Students develop skills in health data management, medical coding, reimbursement, privacy and security regulations, and electronic health record (EHR) systems, aligned with AHIMA professional competencies and CAHIIM accreditation requirements. Upon completion, graduates are eligible to sit for the Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) national credentialing exam and are prepared for careers in hospitals, outpatient clinics, long-term care facilities, and health information management departments. Courses throughout the program integrate supervised experiential learning activities aligned with CAHIIM FEM 2026 competency standards.
