An associate degree in General Studies provides opportunities to develop valuable, lifelong skills in oral and written communication, critical thinking, problem solving, evaluation, analysis and synthesis. The program offers a curriculum to establish a core of knowledge, which can lead to many different careers or lay the groundwork for further studies and specialization.

This program includes 15 general education semester hours and 45 elective semester hours. Of the 60 semester hours, 12 are required to be at the 2000 level or above with a minimum of 15 semester hours completed at Baker College (residency credits).

Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA) Requirements


Students who are pursuing Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA) requirements and would like to earn the Associate of General Studies degree should take the following courses:

MTH 1010 IS REQUIRED. Select one additional course from the remaining:

Humanities


Select two courses, from two different disciplines, from the following:

Note: Students must successfully complete 30 total semester hours to satisfy the MTA requirements - an additional course may be needed to equal 30 total hours
