Occupational therapists work with individuals across the lifespan who have physical and mental challenges, helping them improve their ability to perform everyday tasks and achieve more independence. They begin by assessing patients’ current abilities, and then they develop and implement plans of care that help the patients learn or regain the skills needed to live, work and play.
