This course examines the critical intersection of gender, public policy, and advocacy efforts aimed at promoting gender equity and social justice. Students will explore the historical and contemporary roles of women in shaping policy at local, national, and international levels. Through a combination of theoretical frameworks and practical applications, the course will cover key topics such as women’s rights movements, legislative processes, and the impact of policy decisions on women’s lives. Students will develop skills in advocacy strategies, effective communication, and coalition-building while engaging with case studies and real-world scenarios. By the end of the course, students will be equipped to design and implement advocacy campaigns that address pressing issues affecting women, fostering their ability to influence policy and drive meaningful change in their communities and beyond.
