NUR 3410 - Nursing Concepts for Care of the Family Credits: 7 Lecture: 60 Lab: 30
This course will equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide comprehensive care to individuals and families across the lifespan, with a particular emphasis on children and expectant mothers. The course integrates theories of family-centered care, developmental psychology, and evidence-based practice to prepare students for the unique challenges and opportunities inherent in pediatric and obstetric nursing.Throughout the course, students will explore the physiological, psychosocial, and developmental aspects of pregnancy, childbirth, infancy, childhood, and adolescence. Emphasis will be placed on promoting health, preventing illness, and managing acute and chronic health conditions within the context of the family unit.This course is comprised of 60 hours lecture instruction, 30 hours of lab, and 90 hours clinical experiences.
